- GOD: There is one true God, who exists eternally in three distinct, yet fully united, persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
- BIBLE: The Bible is the word of God and was written by humans under the inspiration of God. It is the only reliable and trustworthy source of truth about God, ourselves and salvation.
- CREATION: God intentionally created the heavens and earth in six days, lovingly creating men and women in His image. His creation was good: there was no pain or death.
- SIN: The first humans disobeyed God, bringing pain and death into the world. Consequently, we all sin, falling short of God’s perfect standard. The just penalty for our sin is eternal separation from God in hell.
- JESUS: God loved the world so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus, into the world. Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, Jesus was both fully God and fully human, meaning He faced temptation just as we do but did not sin.
- JESUS’ DEATH, RESURRECTION & ASCENSION: Jesus willingly died on the cross for us but rose to life again on the third day, conquering sin and death. His death and resurrection freed us from the penalty for our sins, purchasing our salvation. Jesus ascended to the Father and is seated at His right hand, reigning with all authority as our eternal High Priest and mediator.
- SALVATION: Salvation is a free gift from God given to anyone who declares Jesus as Lord and repents from their sins. Everyone who receives this gift of salvation is a Christian and has eternal life.
- WATER BAPTISM: Christians publicly declare their faith in and obedience to Jesus by being baptised by full immersion in water.
- NEW LIFE: When we become a Christian, we become a new creation and begin a new spiritual life. God’s Spirit lives in us, empowering us to become increasingly more like Jesus and resist sin. But when we do sin, we can turn to Him in repentance and receive His forgiveness.
- BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT: The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is available to all Christians and gives us power for living the Christian life. This baptism is normally evidenced by speaking in tongues and enables a Christian to operate in the spiritual gifts.
- CHURCH: All Christians are part of the global Church, under the headship and authority of Jesus Christ. As we wait for Jesus’ return, we meet in local churches to worship and learn about God, to encourage and pray for each other, to celebrate the Lord’s Supper, and to share the good news of Jesus with the world.
- JESUS’ RETURN: Jesus will one day return to the earth personally and visibly to judge the living and the dead. Those who have not accepted Jesus will face eternal separation from God, while Christians will share in God’s glory, spending eternity with Him in the new heavens and new earth, where there will be no more pain or death.
