Green Monkeys is a fun 2-level indoor netted playground purpose-built for pre-schoolers and located in our café.
Our Green Monkeys program runs similarly to a playgroup. We love to support parents in our community by making a safe place to hang out and drink some delicious coffee while your pre-school aged kids play in the playground.
For safety reasons, we ask that all children wear socks and sanitise or wash their hands before playing on our playground.
Green Monkeys is run by volunteers for the community, not as a business. Therefore, we do not charge for you to come to Green Monkeys. However, a gold coin donation would be appreciated to help cover the cost of maintenance.
The playground is designed for pre-schoolers and features two slides, a tunnel, a helicopter cockpit, spinners, punching bags, a swing and more.
The café sells quality coffees, tea and iced drinks, as well as yummy cakes and biscuits. All are for sale at very reasonable prices. There is also free filtered water.
There is a change table available.
Socks and the hand sanitiser are needed for safety, hygiene and cleanliness reasons. If your child cannot use the hand sanitiser we request that you make sure they wash their hands before going into the playground. We work hard to keep Green Monkeys as clean and safe as possible for your children and appreciate your assistance in keeping it clean. If you forget to bring socks you can purchase a pair for $1.50 at the welcome desk.
You are always responsible for your own children but we try to have at least one volunteer in the playground with the children to help provide an extra pair of eyes while you have a coffee and meet some other parents. All volunteers wear a Green Monkeys t-shirt or lanyard and have a Working With Children Check.
Green Monkeys is run by a team of volunteers from Portlife Church. We offer this playgroup to help parents/carers meet other parents in the Port community. We know that raising children is not easy and that the more support you can get from other parents the better!
Car parking is available to the rear of our property and on the street. We have a disabled toilet and a baby changing station inside.
